4Loving my kindle, with a couple of buts  Jul 30, 2010
I have really enjoyed my kindle. I have loved being able to start reading a new book as soon as I hear about it. I travel a lot and I read a lot and so the kindle is my perfect companion - as necessary as my laptop. And I have been reading a lot of literature I would not usually read, because I just couldn't afford to carry it in my luggage. I love the fact that the battery doesn't run dry.

A couple of comments, though. In the next generation of kindles I hope the download of the next page gets faster, since I find it difficult to look at the switch between the light and dark screen. Also, it will be good when you have a Table of Contents in all books and just be able to go to the first page so that you can go back to a chapter easily (even if like me you have forgotten to bookmark it). Finally, I am sure you are working on the formatting of the text so that there are spaces between different sections, which sometimes doesn't happen, and also the words don't break in the wrong places, which sometimes does happen.

At first I didn't get a cover for it, but then I did. It has been well worth it.

I am very impressed though, all in all, and will look forward to newer and newer generations of kindles as well as more and more books on kindle.

5I love it!  Jul 30, 2010
I've always loved to read, but for a long time I've resisted trying an e-book reader because I like real books. But I finally bought a Kindle for the convenience of being able to carry multiple books with me on a trip, in such a single, compact package. I did not anticipate how much I would enjoy the reading experience on it. I'm a convert!

5My Kindle  Jul 30, 2010
I love my kindle. My husband brought it for my birthday against my wishes. I thought how stupid it was to spend that much money to buy books that I could get at a used book store, so much cheaper. Well I was wrong. I take it everywhere and I am averaging a book a week or less. It fits on my treadmill and it is so much easier to turn the pages. I also discovered that I could read the same book on my droid incredible and Amazon knows just where I left off on whichever medium I use. How smart is that ? A five star rating is a must. Think how great it will be when I take it on vacation.

5Kindle Lover  Jul 30, 2010
I purchased this item because a wonderful friend referred me to the Kindle. This is fantastic!!! I have downloaded 3 books already and thought this could be a bad thing cause it's so easy now to just go to Amazon Kindle Store and buy away. The Kindle is simple to use, great for around the pool and there are no more bookshelves to have to fill.

3Great Reader ... off-putting content pricing  Jul 30, 2010
I am a great fan of my DX and the Kindle recently purchased for my wife (perfect for carrying around in her purse). However, insulting content pricing is becoming a matter of principle ... over $9.99 for books that I can purchase at $11 - $14 in hardcover is just unacceptable. ~Somebody~ (author, publisher, Amazon(?), all, none?) is taking advantage and it feels like gouging. What to do? limit my Kindle reading to fairly priced, discount, and free books, and thus limit my enthusiasm for the device, and ultimately move the family Kindles to our shelf of yesterday's-gadgets! That would be sad ...
